2009 Super Truck Race 3 Report
After two top-ten runs to 7th place, in races 1 and 2 of the NASCAR “King Taco” Super Truck series, it was time to step up our game. Grant came through with another stellar qualifying effort, good enough for second place. After spinning the “Wheel of Inversion”, the #31 Super Truck lined up 3rd on the grid for the main race.
It was a battle from the start as Grant tried to dispatch the two slower trucks in front, as pressure was immediate and intense from behind. “We were running three and four wide, with me stuck in the middle there for a while”, said Hebner. When all was said and done, Grant found himself in 4th place battling for 3rd. Slowly gaining on the 3rd place truck, the checkered flag flew and Grant had to settle for a 4th place finish.
“The truck was really good for the entire run. Jason, Kevin, and Brian did their usual fine job of preparing the truck for the race. If we can continue to qualify up front and catch a break when they invert the field with the “wheel”, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before things go our way in the main events”, remarked Grant.
